Projects Lookout! it's escaped the garage!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Thommyknocker, May 3, 2009.

  1. It's been a long 3 year journy, but my '50 chevy has reached a huge milestone.

It went around the block under it's own power :D
    Thanks for letting me share!

I like it. cool looking car.

  4. Looks like the rear window needs to be moved upwards a few inches, but other than that.. (And those wheels..) it looks like one hell of a car. Well done mate!

Nice chop. I am with you maybe move the window up into the roof 3-4 inches or maybe a slightly larger window or a different window with a different shape. example 47-48 ford oval rear window. Just a idea. Looks good!!!

    congrats on your milestone!

  10. I moved the rear window up about 4" with Photoshop (per comments) just so you can see what it looks like.

Very nice ride ... killer profile shot!

  11. Thanks Guys,

Yea, when I got the car the rear window was like that.
I's actually upsidedown now. I've seen a bunch of examples of these chops where the bottom of the window is pushed forward right side up, but that's for another day.

Any ideas on what else to check on the TH350 not hitting 3rd?

I dunno, I think maybe upwards one inch but other than that, I think it looks good. What would help out the back, is pie cutting a section out of the trunk in order to get the rear deck to slope at a matching angle to the roof line. That's all it needs. Well, that and a nice paint job.

How come you have had a trip around the block and there is no burnout circles at the end of your street? I know I know you'd like to stay a while ....but you gotta piss on the lamp posts! Car is looking great! But don't relax now, Keep up the pace.

Thats great! You better watch out i think your shop helper is trying to figure out how to get behind the wheel already.

I never thought the first ride around the block was nerve racking; it was always an adventure even if i had to walk back a few times. A good walk will always burn a little adrenaline:rolleyes:

Can't remember does the th350 have a vacuum line to it? If it does check that for your shifting problem. My th400 wont shift right without the vac hooked up. and check the cable too. Oh the car looks great!
