Tell people about yourself, what kind of rides you have, what are you into, your age and stuff like that so people know who they are talking to and not some stranger! Nate

    TXshoebox,
A lot of the guy's on here like to know who there talking to. It's more like a 'hangout' than a message board, kinda like a buddy's garage.
This way people know a little about you and are more willing to give you a hand...just giving you a heads up.

Anyway, Welcome to the HAMB and good luck on your chop!!!

OK, he beat me to it [IMG]

Intro thing aside, Frank Palmer in Mansfield

Seriously, Frank is the man for the job. He does killer chops.

    I'll chop it!!! I've chopped uh...nothing...before, but there's always a first?

  9. FlyRite in Austin, I hear they chop tops now.

Hell bring it over to my house, it can't be too hard.

Frank Palmer would definitely be a good choice. He's done some killer stuff.

Another good choice is David Guymon...he's right on the TX / OK border off of 75. Another great guy that's done some awesome stuff.

And from the pitures I've seen, Flyrite did a hell of a job on the shoebox they just did a few weeks ago.

Really, what it's going to come down to is how much money you want to spend. If you wanna save a bunch of money and try it yourself, there's several guys in the DFW area that would probably lend a hand for beer and a meal or two.

Where exactly are you located anyway? DFW is a big area...

I am located in Arlington over by the Parks mall. Im friends with "bump" who has a chopped 49 that Palmer did. I really like the way it came out. Ill probably contact a few other people to see about price and thing like that. I was thinking in the range of 3-4k. I guess we'll see.

Hey TxShoebox, don't know if you have found anybody to chop your car as of yet. Just wanted to give you another option. Aces & Eights in Bracken Tx. (essentially in San Antonio suburb). There is a 49' there that Sideburns owns. We (I helped)chopped this monster just over 7" in the front, 6" in the back. It is using glass all around, not plastic. We made it a hard top, and basicly did some stuff that others were saying could not be done on this body. The car has too many other little mods to list, but you should contact Sideburns and inquire. Just to give you some options.
There is a right way, and a wrong way to do everything.

    Hey TXshoebox...

Its me, Dennis. Small world, huh?!? I just chatted with Frank today and he told me about this place. Any who, hit me up, I'd love to see your '49 in person.

sweet man. If I do not answer, that means I'm in Ranger doing some side jobs. I don't get reception out there, but I do check my messages once I get over Ranger Hill.
