Technical Looking for help, 28-29 roadster door hinges

I bought the cheapo hinges and guess what, I can't even figure out which side is which. I am smart enough to know the long ones go on bottom but when I close the door, the door is inside the cowl or WAY outside the cowl. Anyone please enlighten me w/advise and or pics. Thanx in advance, Ron

The 3 pronged hinge goes to the cowl side. It should be countersunk. It appears as though you have the passenger side hinges on the drivers side.
