  1. Yep it followed me home really....

Ok ok....not the dog, the car...I already had the dog...

So after sucumbing to my buddy "Fab Brad's" phone call, to "get off my ass and go to the River side rod show" with him (gold chains and fiberglass)...I reluctantly went...since I was still scowling that I didn't get to make it to the Rust Revival...Eerrrrr!!!
It was just as expected tons of glass 32's 37's and 75$ plus goldchainer stuff, nothing too original...a few cool real rods but not more then 10 or so...
We wander around the corner into of the area reserved for the "Car Corral" and there sat this poor little helpless project.....I DID NOT WANT IT!' Didn't even contemplate it
I just wanted the vintage "Thrush" aluminum finned side pipes that were on it...called the owner and a deal was made so I met him at the car to score "the pipes ONLY!" really!....No tools between us except a pair of heavly worn small channel locks and I didn't drive to the show so no dice there either...I tell the owner my house is less then a mile from "said event" and if we went there (car was already on the trailer) we could use my tools, air whatever...so we went to my house....Where we took off the pipes...paid for them...back to the show he went to put car back in the corral...
I am feeling all better about my trip to the river rod show..scored a set of CLEAN vintaqge thrush sidepipes for $100.00 and they got them delivered to my house...the story does not end here however...

While at my house owner of 49 spies my 71 SS Nova PROJECT on my trailer behind the fence and inquires, I tell him a little about it...he looks at it and the pile of stuff for it over and goes back to the show after we've remove the sidepipes and finished our transaction...
    fast forward 2 hours...
My phone rings, 49 guy wants to bring his dad to see my 71 SS Nova...so 49 guy and dad come over and give my 71 the twice over......the ole man looks a while turns to me and finally speaks "Nova for the 49 chevy straight up?" he asks...I concied.....I'm much happier to see the running driving 49 in my drive then the
    "Nova pile-o- parts" anyday...
    Done Deal!...So here it is...
I guess it did really follow me home...lol...
I welcome some suggestions from ya'll.
I'm not completly sure what it has in store for it yet...
Some of what is already has done to it are:
    327 with edelbrock and HEI,
    350 turbo
    tilt wheel,
    shaved door handles,
custom hood, vents rounded corners, frenched headlights, and that grille mod...
    power rack steering
also been changed to power disc brakes,
new frame mount booster and master cyl,
    9 inch ford rear axle,
    some simle SW guages,
    floor shifter,

Soon it will be recieving my fresh 66 double hump 327 4 barrel, Muncie M-21 4 speed, sanderson rams horn headers, lake pipes...
lowered 3-4 inches front and rear
and about 4/5 inches out of the top
That is the plan so far anyway....

Here's the FiddyCent tour of 49 Chevy:

  2. very cool, good on you indeed.

  3. I heard recently ya gotta have a cruiser to "get the girl"
....and a Hotrod to "get away!"....

Yea...I only pulled this one off by gettin rid of one "non running pile" for a running pile...lol....
Plus I kept the muncie and accessories I got with the SS to begin with for this car...

As for my Vicki project, I'm on my way over to my buddies tonight to get the chassis plan worked out and we'll hopefully have a roller by this weekend...

    Nothing like multi tasking....
