  1. Supermodified out of Houston in the 60's. Falcon fenders front and rear.

Used to watch them a lot back in the day. Always liked the look of these cars. Just don't see them any more. Too bad!

I LOVE IT, something like this should be built for the street!

    Thanks!

When I use to go to Longview Speedbowl in Texas back in 1967 alot of the Modifieds used two quarter panels for the rear body section on homemade frames. Being from the north east it was something that I had never seen back home. The racing was great. Very loose muddy track all night. The cars had 50 ft. rooster tails off the back tires. Never forget it.

That looks great ! It just shows you how someone looked at what they had to work with and saw a vision of a really kool dirt track car ! That's what racing was all about !

No kidding! It would be a lot more interesting than another T-bucket body.

Very cool...I sure miss race cars that were built using imagination and Yankee inginuity.

Indeed... I love all those concept drawings you see of narrowed late model bodies turned into roadsters (and the rare coupe), but too few of them ever seem to get built. This car is really clever. I can see a street car like this but just a tad wider, with a narrowed grille, dual 7" headlights, OEM tail lights and even a working, narrowed trunk. Gary

Forgot to add... here are a couple 60's modifieds that ran in the SE Wisconsin / NE Illinois area. Not all, but some of these coupes were pretty cool looking, narrowed with bobbed tails. If you had some spare 32-34 stuff laying around, I think something like this could be made into a good looking modified coupe if the window openings were kept stock and at least one door worked.

Kurt, Will be looking forward to your mock up ! I think "T" truck frame is better choice. Plenty of metal to shape to meet your needs. (He-He-He-He . . . . . :-( )
