This one's been in the family for 45 years. My dad bought it in '70.

And this one's been with me for 30 years.

  2. My '36 I owned for 17 years and my Super Sport for 23 years.
Wish I could have held on to others I let go of.
Never enough money or storage space to hold them all.

Bought my '55 F100 as a 'vandalized recovery' in '72. Got it running in '73, has been my daily, shop truck, Bonneville/local drags support vehicle (turned 102/13.40 at Baylands thru mufflers and street tires in'82) up 'til now.
Many hot rods, some 'kustoms', but my truck has been with me for 43 years. Still seems fresh...

On Farm Pad, \'58 (Medium).jpg I have owned my roadster pickup since 1956...first drove it in 1957. 3 engines, 4 paint jobs, lots of upgrades over the years. It has been a good friend for nearly 60 years!!

I looked again at these photos this morning and realized both photos not only have the same couple and car, but the same house in the background. Look how big the tree is in the newer photo. Fun post, thank you VA HAMB.

Bought my Ford (in avatar) in 1988. It was target practice and it was rough. Always wanted one and have been driving it for 12 tears now. Car all original running gear, full house flatty with OD. Put about 25 K on it so far. See you all in OC in May.

  27. The first time I owned this 32 coupe I had it 15 years before I contracted a case of stupid idiocy and sold it. So thats the longest I have owned a pre 48 rod.
Good thing is I bought it back in 2012, never to be for sale again. I will leave it to my son or one of my daughters.

... That be my Deuce 5W Basket Case bought in about 1973 it still has the original weathered paint. It was totally stripped but not cut up in the 1940s as the guy was going to make it dirt track car (racer), so I have been collecting period parts for it over the years; last year I was able to get a fresh 51 Merc Bored & Stroked 278ci Full Race Flathead and now I’m trying to get all the suspension pieces together.
