Did I find a long lost custom? It's registered as a 37 ford, and it's on what looks like a early Ford chassis. It's all steel with an aluminum hood. Get over the fact that someone did some additions and hack work in the last 5-10 years, the rest is OLD. Anyone know what it is?

jag grille is my only contribution to the ID....obviously a well-built custom on an early Ford frame...hope the HAMB comes through in its usual inimitable style and speed.

Here is the top. A non car guy got it and a few others from an estate sale and brought it to me to buy/sell.

  8. Very cool, very sleek, and very great score!!

As for an "original" custom, it just has the look of something built in later years, but I could be wrong.

    Either way great looking car!

except the underside has seen way better days.

Cool but it does need alot of detailing and I'm not just talking about a wax job and Q-tips either.

Looks like the fenders, rear deck, and headlights are early VW Bug.

Yeah, but not in person. And 5 feet away from it is my 62 bug, and not the same at all. Bug headlights for sure, but that again looks like it was added recently.

The whole hood is Jag xk140 and should be aluminum.

Looks like the hood is hinged with Ford (shoebox) trunk hinges.

I don't recall ever seeing this car... with or without the "recent" updates.

Perhaps a home built Sports Custom...
