Long bed to short bed

My son is removing a short stepside and cutting down a long wide bed to a short wide bed for his 58 Ford - our question is - are the wide and stepside beds the same length ????? since we do not have a short wide bed to measure , Im hoping someone can answer this for use - Thank You - Jaxx

 

Nothing wrong with a long bed, just ask the ladies. I say keep it long.

If you really want a short bed, it's a Ford, they can't be that hard to come by. Why spend all the time and effort trying to make a short bed from a long bed?

 

Long stepsides are more unique.
