I managed to score a last minute plane ticket and go down to Austin. OVERWHELMING show. You owe to yourself to go. It is the epitome of traditional Hot Rod shows, bar none! I took 300+ pix but,it'll take me a while to load them. Here goes. I walk in and the 1st thing is wallet tempter. Nice shoe box, done right. Nice Chevy.Such a great basis for a custom. Nice Deuce sedan. Great patina. Pretty frickin' original 34 in swapmeet. Clean Deuce roadster. I decided to go down town and check out Congress St. I told my self,"I'll just run up one way and back down the other side. Then suddenly a car pulls out and there is the prefect parking spot! Time to hit the sidewalk. I'm walking along and run into a George Poteet and say hi. 15 feet later I see Norm Gabowski! I slide in to see some music and grab liquid refreshment. Great music! Not to mention some awesome cars in the lot. There were some hazards in the lot! Eye candy everywhere! Mean while Sat. morning and I gotta catch a plane so speed walk and take more pix. Oh baby that's what I like! I Nice full fendered 32 Stay tuned!
man, you left this morning? saturdays on congress are the highpoint of the event. also on sunday there is a cruise into the hill country. you gotta try and make it back to attend the whole weekend. thanks for coming out, and for the great pics. -DVZ

These were over in a field with the trailers.Pretty nice. I love the Ford's color. Cool old boat in swap meet.Pretty dry rotted.Neat decal! Cool custom car from the fifties.He was getting it striped. Nice three window Deuce. Part of a display of vintage motorcycles put on by the local AMCA chapter. Cool 57 Caddy.Lots of subtle stuff going on. These are cool enough stock. Nice subtle long roof.I saw it driving down the street.Caught my eye immediatly. He lit this off and came close to melting five lawn chairs! Nice 59. Nice gasser! Nice long roof. Nice custom. Nice Triumph Simple can be nice. Did I mention killer food? Nice MOPAR. Easy color to find in the parking lot! Once I saw the cockpit,I knew he was serious! Another edition of subtle is good. Did they at least keep out the O/T cars? I wasn't able to go this year, but last time I went there were many cars that they let in that should not have been in the show. CN
Well,I tend to photograph certain types of cars.Some other posts might give you a different perspective. If you don't like the car, just walk a few feet, there will b ea nice one there.
