As in "Why not Minot?" Where would you be flying in from that the AF would bring you?

Either I missed it or this post has the wrong heading of 2024 :)
I’m assuming that date is for next year correct?

Some of us missed this year’s fest. Now we are planning on how to make it to next years event. It would be nice to either sandwich Lloydfest and another get together with a comradely filled cruise in between. Or just group up with people coming through our general area and cruise together. My only down side is the wife is back to work teaching by Labor day. So who will drive the chase vehicle pulling the car trailer? I believe if we bring it, we won’t need it. But if we leave it home, we’ll wind up wishing we had it. Not that any of our stuff ever breaks down.

When I go to the US I also visit a friend in Canada. The airport at Minot is easy to get domestic flights to. I then drive across the border into Canada. Much cheaper than flying into Canada. That is my only reason to suggest Minot.

  8. Gotcha! There is an unofficial, at this point, plan starting for some of us to try to meet the summer of 2025.

    Where is your friend located?

Thank you for the shirt and plaque,,,,,I was very pleased !

I received it some time ago, but I was busy with the dentist and having some teeth removed .
I don’t know why they are called Wisdom Teeth,,,,I’m still dumb as a Rock !

Anyway,,I’m much better now and wanted to post some pics of my treasure I received from Lloyd . For anyone that has never met him,,,,he’s top drawer .
There are many of the guys on here I have really wanted to meet,,,,,I hope even more of you can show next year .
There were some really exciting pics posted and I believe that even better times will happen next year .
I was really disappointed not being able to show up this year,,,but I’m definitely trying for next year .

    @Bandit Billy,

We all want to see your roadster up close and personal. The Lexington airport is good but driving your roadster is a better option.

It wouldn't have been much fun this year. I lost the Syncros in 3rd. Makes driving it very tedious. Also have to rev match 2nd on the way down and 1st to 2nd aint no joy either at speed. Anyhoo, I have plans to remove engine and trans this winter and either rebuild or replace that T-5. I have lit those tires up a few times and I am right at the 300 HP and torques that push the limit of those trannies. I may have F'ed it up. They make a new T-5 that will handle 600 HP and torques but the same physical dimensions. I am planning on buying that one but I need mine apart to determine exact spline count, length, bolt holes, etc.

Next year it should be a whole different animal. And worthy of a road trip.

That means along with changing the trans, you can add more power. Maybe a 461 blower?

In the words of Maxwell Smart, "Missed it by that much!" I would have thought it would have more than 300 with the blower. Still as light as it probably is, I bet it is fun to drive. Some of us mentioned earlier that we should put one of those epic road trips together and culminate with everyone gathering at Lloydfest 2025. You could make the drive in a week (each way) without hitting major highways or driving too far every day.

  22. It would be my pleasure to put a "face to a handle" Tommy!

Trust me when I say.....You will not be disappointed in the festivities or the folks who participate in them.

I wear my shirts all the time & folks ask me what "Lloydfest" is a lot :D

    What Bill said (everything)...

Long distance without a doubt unless someone comes from Alaska. For any of you who have never looked up Grimshaw's location just let it be said it's a LONG way from Kentucky. By helicopter it's about 500 miles straight north of the border between Canada and Washington/Idaho.

  26. I’m 2400 ish miles one way from my house to Lloyd’s. I’m hesitant to fly because I would like to bring an old car to an old car weekend!
I’ll see about next year we are going to the east coast of Canada next summer for a Scottish dance competition.

For the smartass’s I don’t dance my 7 year old daughter does.:)

  27. Yeah sure, you're amongst friends, dance your little heart out buddy ;)

I think I will attend 2025. 2024 I went to Truckstock in PA. I want to go on a trip once a year as long as able. I plan to take my 56 F100 and 1958 Easy Travler 13' trailer. LLoyd, is it at your place and would it be OK for me to stay in trailer?
