We got them in East Tennessee. You see one every now and then towing his fishing boat, complete with outboard, behind a horse.

Lot of them just north of me. Great place to buy good for cheap.

A few years ago my wife and I zigzagged across KY and TN for almost 3 weeks. Then we were in your area last year. Love that area.

There are Amish in southern WI and a few scattered around parts of IL as well. Most seem pretty friendly when we drive the old truck past them respectfully, nearly all have waved as we drove past them.

We have them around us too. Salt of the earth and cheap as hell. They were born with a hammer in their hand. I just wish the state would make a diaper law when they are running on state roads. Electric bikes are taking over their form of transportation lately.

  5. Yes, but their buggies ARE traditional!!

A few years ago at the Essenhaus Restaurant in Middlebury In. All decked out in their winter buggies some have fenders some not. I guess like some of us crazy Englishman.

There are two types. One is traditional and the other is modern by traditional standards.

Stop with the Amish stuff please.
    You fellas are really drifting.
    Focus on Lloyd's gathering..
You'll have plenty of time to discuss what you saw along the way in person when you get there.
    Thanks

  12. Well I just found out that the 37 Chevy i built a few years ago is coming to Lloydfest 2023! Along with his dad's 55 Chevy convertible :D that made me happy :) 20170723_120010.jpg

  13. I'm not making any promises, but I'm trying to pull a few strings and get the straight axle mafia group to come out Friday and Saturday. Throw some gassers out on the track. Awesome bunch of guys to hang out with.

  14. Yea ! Those guys have some serious machines, and put on one HELL of a show.

  15. Remember me??? Big daddy Lloydfest here! It's rapidly approaching!! The BBQ food truck guy, which happens to also be a city cop here, had a shift change and backed out, Ashley tried to get the taco lady to come but she's already booked that weekend, I promise you there'll be food available though lmao! On another note, my buddy with the 39 Chevy messaged me and asked if one of his buddy's can bring his 39 Ford with what he described as off topic wheels, I said that I'd rather look at a 39 Ford with off topic wheels than not have any cars to look at lol, so don't feel like you're being judged if you wanna come, just show up and have a good time! Don't forget to bring some of those extra parts you're tripping over, somebody else might wanna buy em!

  16. I’m counting down the days!! Only this full week of work and four days of work next week and then Show Time!!

Just curious..........what's the track schedule look like? I believe I saw a couple different posts. I know there is the official track schedule but I was simply looking at running a few unofficial passes as I'm not going to be competitive. Throwing the track owner some money isn't a problem.

  18. Friday the track opens at 5, it's test and tune. Pretty sure it's $20 to run your car. Saturday morning the gate opens at 10, usually qualifying starts at noon, and I think it's $30 buck to run on Saturday. And that car looks freaking awesome man :D

  19. I just got the message that the straight axle mafia already has a race scheduled that weekend, so that's out

Lloyd, at this point, its just time to enjoy what shows up and let whatever happens be what happens. Lloydfest sounds like its going to be a blast. You have gone over and above anything that most of us expected. Don't wear yourself out trying to add extra stuff and get to the point your burned out too much to enjoy it.

I was around in the early HAMB drags days. These guys don't need much in the line of attractions to make em happy. A chance to hang around a like minded bunch of guys and gals, some cool cars to look at, some bulls to shoot, something to keep the whistle wet while we are shooting the bulls, and throw in a little drag racing and you have it all it really takes for us to have fun. You are providing all that and a bunch of other stuff. Relax man and enjoy the weekend.

    AMEN !!

  22. You're right man, not much time left to change things now. Ashley asked me what else needs to be done and I said we just kick back and see what happens at this point lol.

@Bandit Billy I'll see what I can do. Just hope it's nothing to worry about. They took out several small ones. Said this one needed a specialist. Unsure if it's 1 inch but bigger than all the rest.

  26. Hang in there buddy, good that they found it! Most men just put it off and think they're invincible. That's not the case.

  27. Hell Ashley used vacation time to be there on Saturday lol. She's pretty cool i reckon

Dude, I'll give you a bye on this one. I watched my own on the screen and it reminded me of Disneyland's Wild Mountain Railroad. I got a bit queasy and craved a frozen choco banana, no nuts.
