I like to do some of the smaller jobs on a project as I work on the big jobs. I am restoring the underdash defroster and heater control assembly for our '41 Pontiac. The paint is silver/gray hammered finish. The knobs are toast but all there. I need a 3D printer. I don't know what I'll do about the lettering on the front. I guess I'll save it as-is for now. 2. A modern sign shop should be able to recreate that lettering in the form of a decal that you could apply and then clear over top of to preserve it.

vtx1800, great save on the knobs

Papa in NC, what's the shaft look like that the knobs mount on? Is it the typically circular shaft with a flat? Could be plenty of knobs that will fit.

Yes those are the knobs! Three anyway, the one on the far right is a push/pull cable to operate the water valve under the hood.

The two on the left have a large hole that slips over a bulb socket, probably 3/8 or 7/16 in diameter. The third one fits over a splined shaft about 3/16 or 1/4 inch. Number 4 is a matching knob on a cable.
Mine are pretty "crumbly" so I don't know if I can fix them with epoxy.
I've thought about having my buddy turn some from wood, and leave the bulbs out of # 1&2.
