little race at the local airfield with pic's

Thought some of you wan't to share a few pic's from the 3. "Headbanging" 1/8 mile dragrace we had on the first weekend of September at our local strip. There where about 64 car's and bikes up to '59 that took a chance to try and find out if they're fast or not. Saturday nite we had two Bands playin' and beer flow was enormous. Hope we can do the race again in 2004.

 

cool pics! THANX. I thought WE lived in the land of the FREE.............WTF.........If 60 something cars showed up in any one place in CALIFORNIA let alone drove fast when they got there. Everyone would get in trouble.

Man, I like that A-V8 with the Flying Tigers teeth. It's perfect, right down to the whitewalls mounted on the inside.
Over here, you could go to events with a couple thousand street rods and not find that many trad cars. Looks like my kind of event.

 

I really dig the 33 (or 34?) three window coupe in this picture...absoloutely PERFECT!!

Rickyracer, Fat Hack here a few fact's and pic's on the 34 coupe. The car belongs to a club fellow named Holly. He bought it in 1995 as a basket case. Then it sat for awhile in the barn. You know.....other projects.



Then in 1999 a 3 year rebuild began. You know slowly but shurely.




The coupe runs a ordinairy .060 over 8BA with aftermarket Offenhauser stuff on it. Got finished this years spring and had a maiden voyage to Swedens Uddevalla A-bomber meet with out any problems. Ohhhh man...the sepia-tone...the blak &amp; whites...the vintage cars...the flag starter...could have been Anywhere USA, 1954...I'd swear that looks like back in the day. Way cool photos...looks like a ton o' fun too!
