Does anyone have a picture of a distributor wiring diagram for original lincoln distributor ,,, I have it wired correctly , But , I would like to make a copy of the diagram , as I am sure any of you that have any experience with these knows , how difficult it is to explain the configuration of the distributor , the rotor , with different contact levels (pointers) and other workings of these and earlier flathead v8s of the 30s and 40s , Oh, by the way , this engine will be in my 28 Hudson/ essex 2-door sedan , thanx for any help, Joe
Here you go, page 24 and 25 http://www.boos-herrel.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/Catalog.pdf
>>>Firing order 1,4,9,8,5,2,11,10,3,6,7,12 >>>RH 2,4,6,8,10,12 LH 1,3,5,7,9,11>>> Hmmm? I wonder why Ford numbered the v12 cylinders according to the position on the crank front to back? But not on their v8s? Prolly just to confuse folks. Jack E/NJ
I've heard that they're makin speed equipment for these now but if you thought a Flathead V8 was expensive, better hang on to your wallet for the V12.
Girlfriends father has a 46 continental, it came with some receipts including one for an engine overhaul. $99 to rebuild the v-12! Still runs good.
