one step forward, two steps back once we had tested engine and ford own transmission to frame, it all looked OK. then started to set cardan shaft to its place... well... ford tranny is 1.5 inch longer than original gm hydra. no worries. we delivered ford tranny to my transmission specialist as a partial payment for total rebuild of original gm trans and got original transmission back. now sun is shining again =)
ready for summer, eh... well, frame is ready to be moved to another place. then starts the body works... can't wait
Way to go man! Finally body is empty. Well, windshield is still there, but needs help from friend to pop it out =)
At my friends garage. Only minor welding needed. Check out his FB-page at https://www.facebook.com/JK-Kustoms-1692010614384851/
Nice work and a great looking project. I own a 1954 Lincoln Capri mild kustom. Continue good luck on your car.
Thank You, sir. As You suggested, I found left side manifold from eBay and have it now ready for installing =)
Once you see how much easier the rear discharge manifold makes fitting the exhaust, I think you will want to find the right side as well. That way you will have a matched set that "cleans-up" the appearance of the engine in the car.
Front seat is almost prrrrrfect as is =) well, actually, my friends wife will do some upholstery work later =)
While Cosmo is still under welding operations, i need to drive to happenings and meetings and cruisings with this one. yeah, i know, too new to be good, but 390 with toploader gives nice ride though =)
Tomorrow will be The Day. Welding is done and Linc will be moved back to own garage. I must say, that me friend The Welder did great job.
