In the beginning of the build, I said OMG, "he's going to turn that cherry Nova into a gasser? What a waste." Well I eat my words. Fantastic build. On the rear end choice, back in 1962, when I built my 54 Chevy B/gasser with a brand new 409 and T-10 4speed, The rear was just a 55 Chevy 10 bolt with 4:56 gears, welded spiders, stock leaf springs and Looooong ladder bars. Only blew it out once in 2 year racing. Second gear was another story.3 times gone. This was a drag car, with use on the street. Again GREAT JOB!!! Ken

    Okay, It's rear end time!!!!!!!
Staying with the 10 bolt and adding a eaton posi,3:73 gears,Multi leaf super stock style springs, that are re-arched for a 4" lift,Lakewood ladder bars.New U-bolts and Brake lines. Should work and look correct. Can't wait too see the underside of the ass end cleaned up.

That rear is a good combo. I put a tru-trak with 4.11's in my OT Impala SS 6 speed and a tru-trak with 3.73's in my '55.

How tall are your tires? (rear) They look fantastic! Are they hurst tires too?

very nice job--looks great and nice fab work-ran a 10 bolt with a posi in a 56 with a 406 small block and a turbo 350 with a 3500 stall--made alot of passes at Sear Pt and never broke it-can't wait to see the car at some local venue. Great job !!

Bill, are you going to bring the Granny car to Pleasanton in June? I'd really like to check it out in person.

Drove it out to the track for the Hot Rod Heritage race series that was held last weekend at Sacramento Raceway. Ran consistant 13.0 passes, very happy with the handling and performance of the little car. I was one of the slowest cars there that day...... But i had the biggest smile thats for sure. Nothing broke and we drove it home.

The best thing is that you are enjoying it. I wouldn't have had the balls to cut up a car that nice.

Nice thing about these little chevyII's, The front clip and frame structure unbolt. so there is no cutting at all. i could bolt the original front clip back on next week and have my six banger back. But thats no fun It's just a post car(sedan) hardtops are nice . But Post cars are meant to be Gasser's and Altereds

I too enjoyed seeing your car and meeting you and the little lady at the Knockout. The original condition of your car is the real knockout.
