I'm installing a license plate frame with a light, and I was looking for ideas on how to get the wiring through the trunk lid with a good seal and also protecting the wires from the metal edges of the hole. Has to be flexible because I plan on going straight from the license plate frame through the trunk lid, probably about an inch of space.

I can use a rubber grommet but not sure if that will seal tight enough??? Thought about using some vacuum line and making that hole very tight.

    Ideas? Thoughts?

Grommet and silicone in and around the hole that the wire goes through.

I agree with hotroddon. If your wire is not tight in the grommet use layers of heat shrink over the wire thru the grommet. You can also seal the grommet to the wise with heat shrink.

Is that readily available in the big box stores?
