Anybody knows why great Ettore always used reversed quarter eliptic springs at rear, from this model to many other?
Wasn't there strong torsional torque force at rear, where springs are attached? Any benefits of that system?

Bug stomping has been one of my delights in life.

 

Ashley Border caught Anna with her Ratier too...

 

Are there any pics of the Ratier motor out there. They sound rather interesting. Apparently a wee 750cc overhead cam unit.

 

Sadly, the original motor is not in this car. I do not know if it will return or not.

 

A bit of a search in tricyclecaristes suggests it has a 1100cc Chapuis Dornier in it. Possibly even rarer than a Ratier motor.
This photo may be of the original motor with supercharger but my french is not so good.

 

A bit more research and it appears that the Chapuis Dornier was a common proprietary engine.

 

Many of those once common engines are now scarce.
