Lung,I know what you mean. There are so many pictures where what is in the backround is far more intriguing than the actual subject.I always find myself tipping my head and craning my neck to look at it at different angles hoping to see "inside " the picture.

A very comprehensive history indeed ... here's a scan I have on the hard drive of the 4 engined iteration, and I'd forgotten about the Linon I sighted in a private collection I got to see in Brussels in 2011. So here 'tis.

Hi chuxx the jappic is coming on well, busy drawing parts , and working on the engine mountings , once the engine is in I have the pedals and controls to do ,

Sadly just missed a great front axle on prewar car so currently the plan is to fabricat my own , but I would rather have something period

Merry Christmas to you Lung! I hope you are blessed.

Usually I give all the information that I can about the pictures I beg ,borrow,or outright steal. This is all I have on this one.The poster actually mentioned the patina when offering the brief description!

There is a pretty good website on Darmont that has some of the engine variants offered.I suppose I should make a list of the websites having cyclecars that I have visited.

UKAde we are waiting for pics of your Jappic! Early Jappic just best looking racer I know. Such minimalistic design for speed..perfect. Your project looks really cool and enthuastic for this old styling.

This one won't be quite as quick as the Jappic, I suspect ... and I reckon the coil is familiar: the same as that fitted to our Citroen 2CV !!
A couple of shots at the 2007 “Rallye des Teuf-Teufs”. A 1934 Raleigh.
Not eligible for the event, though, which accepts vehicles up to end of '05. A great shake-down event for the pre '05 London to Brighton cars. AND the weather is more than likely to be a LOT better!

Lung, the Darmont is a race chassis. It would normally come with a Darmont Special engine. It currently has a Blackburne engine. The owner is on the hunt for the correct engine.

Thanks Bob - and again, my best wishes to you and all the other HAMB contributors. We're looking to a quite pleasant 27 degrees C here tomorrow ... who needs snow & ice to celebrate Xmas, I ask!

We don't need cold weather for Christmas either. It's just where we live. It's been hovering around -30 F. for most of the week. Many times colder.

  21. Merry Christmas, all. I hope you UK guys are away from the flooding and your Norteamericanos are not snowed in.

It's Christmas Day in the Antipodes with rain and wind, but what the heck...

I'd be happy to have Santa put one of those in my Xmas stocking any time!
Performance plus ... mid engined, just like the pre-war Auto Union V16's, 'though lacking the other 15 cylinders;)

I like the Hanomag too.Nice and simple, good looks, and a closed body.I don't think it would survive winter driving in Fairbanks,Alaska.Just not robust enough.
