so real 38-39 sedan deliveries had a contoured rear panel ( w/ full drip rails). The 40-41 sedan delivery was smooth ( drip rails removed at doors) What do you guys think is a better look? I'm going down on Saturday to buy the car. Will bring pictures on Sunday...
Thats my 35, how do I make or get moons to fit 18" rims..and what about white walls..I want to cover my rims and white wall my tires..I don't want to change the rims ore tires..This 35 rides like a Caddy..What can I do to get it done.. Duane.
-Lono I think the contour would work the best with a straight b-pillar. Slanted pillar without the contour imho. Not sure about how you should make the rain gutters flow but I think the trim should be left alone as it enforces the cleanliness of the lines. -Virgil Great photochop, the only thing I don't get is the DB9 wheels. A set of radirs and some pinner whites and that thing is rocking!

When I talked to the 70 year old guy about the 38 he said: "it needs some blankets over the seats... the fenders are near perfect... the flaty needs a carb and generator the floors are perfect its complete you'll have it on the road in no time no interior no heads on the flatty- rusted to ratshit fenders are garbage floors and trunk are shot more missing than is there and it only cost me 2 days of driving, hotel, gas = $200. ps... the price for this gem... $2250..... firm! the quest continues.

Sounds like a truck I was recently on eBay. The truck didn't sell for the reserve so the guy contacted me after the auction because I was the highest bidder at $500. His eBay add stated the truck had brand new, 0 mile tires. I bid on the truck for the tires and the few other parts I could get off of it, the rest I could see was junk. I emailed the guy a few times asking about the tires to make sure they were new, never used. He assured me they were. Drove out with a trailer, pulled into his yard and checked out the truck. The tire sides looked like road maps with all the weather cracks. The guy comes out, I asked if there were the new tires and he says "yes". I told him they were junk and he got defensive and said he couldn't see any crank. I told him he needed glasses and left. I was fortunate, I only had to drive 35 one way.
Just shook hands on a 40 Dodge 4 door. Sweet condition....................... This winters goal.... I've never owned a Dodge before... must be middle age creeping in.
That´ll work - should look great! Would be nice to see some rear loading door/s added at some point, to get the correct delivery look. You get a good deal?
I need to have the car sitting here to make that call. I was thinking of using the rear door hinges and making the trunk lid open out rather than up. I dont want to cut into the roof line to add a full door.
there's a gentle rib above the beltline, just under the windows. On the ford I had looked at using the windows as a contour for the quarter panel to break up the metal above the belt line. The Dodge give me the best of both worlds. The son of the original owner wanted $5000 when it first came available in April 08. Just picked it up for $3000... and I'm the second owner!
I wonder if the trunk lid could be made to hinge to one side and joined to the rear window area to form a door? Or clamshell style?
ooooh got me thinking..anyone want to take a stab at my 4 door nightmare? I like the two tone of this drawing. I was thinking coupe doors and one window in the back.
heh, i paint shopped it and came up with something pretty close, yours looks way better tho! awesome!...ok anyone have a pair of 36 plymouth coupe doors?
Here is a series of ones I did for a bud that had a chopped shoebox and he wanted some finish ideas. And here is one I did for myself. I had this four door 56 Ply that needed something so I did some chopping. We almost built this but sold it before the sawsall went to work.
