I was looking thru the thread for the National Trail Dragway pics & got to thinking about Kil-Kare in Xenia,Ohio just down the road from NT.
I know Kil-Kare isn't as big or as well known as some tracks, but I'd be really interested in seeing any pics you guys might have.I remember lotsa teams like Sox & Martin,Jenkins,Ohio George,etc..There was alot of S/S action too.If anybody has anything please post. Thanks

These are cool.I especially like the pics of Dallas Lunsford. He gave me my first high school job at his Knollwood Shell Station when I was 16.I think about those days alot.It was a great job for a 16 year old kid.The young people today are missing out on this.

Not sure if these were taken at Kil Kare but Ault & James Speed Shop is in Dayton so I thought they deserved an honorable mention.

    Here's my Kil-Kare story.

In 2016 the Inliners International club was having a convention in nearby Dayton. I organized a drag race at Kil-Kare for inline powered cars. As luck would have it, the two cars I brought down to race ended up in the finals. I drove my "THE LAST LOGGHE" orange altered and my neighbor George drove my white roadster pickup "THE FRENCHTOWN FAMILY TRUCKSTER". This was Georges first final round appearance and I could tell he was nervous about the whole situation - performing well and not letting me down as my driver, yet with mixed emotions about having to race me as well as anxious about the prize money on the line. So I said to him, "Lets split the purse 50/50. Put a dollar in your pocket, and when I beat you you owe me a dollar!"
That took much of the pressure off him.
Long story short - he beat me! In the winners circle we got a pic of me handing him a dollar.

The Kil-Kare team were wonderful to us. Here's a video of that final round.

If you ever visit the Xenia area know that it is the epicenter of bicycling in the whole country in my opinion, with rail trails extending outward for miles in every direction (one takes you right to the track from the downtown hub.)

The "Bloody Red Baron". My avatar in it's later suit! Oh, those good old days.
Uncle Sugar interrupted my time with the "Baron" but what a great car.
