Lets See Those Hudsons!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by DtroitDinosaur, Oct 12, 2007.

  1. The wheelbase is shorter on a Pacemaker/Wasp than a Commodore or Hornet. The roof line has zip to do with the model, since Pacemakers, Commodores, Wasps and Hornets were ALL available as coupes, Broughams (more sloped roofline than a coupe, in a two-door), four-door sedans, and convertibles.

The front sheetmetal (fenders and hood) are shorter on the Pacemaker/Wasp, as well. The rest of the body from the cowl back is the same size as the senior cars.

No, no paint yet. I've been driving it all summer. Paint will come in a month or two once I have time to pull it off the road.

  11. Had a couple come to a demo i was giving who sang bluegrass. They sang the Hudson Hornet song. I had never heard it before. It is about the car to. Also my grand nephew's name is Hudson. Lest you think he was named after the river let me correct you. His older sister's name is Chrysler.

Here are some picture of my '49 Hudson Brougham. I also own two other Hudsons a '49 Super 6 Sedan and a '54 Hornet Sedan. I grew up in the back seat of my Dads '48 Hudson. My grandfather also drove a 1930 Hudson.

  19. Hey All....Help me with this? A fellow HAMBer sent me a message...after I said that I was selling the Hudson to help with the 40 Coupe rebuild.

"You better make sure you really like that Ford ...before you sell that Hudson"

What am I missing about these Hudsons?????

Hudsons are a different beast with an aura all their own. And a low profile that practically one-ups Mercs, even stock. I wish I hadn't had to sell my '50 Super Six 262 to finish school. But, damn! I have fond memories of driving and working on one great machine.

Here's some pics of my dad's 1930 Hudson Super 8. Found this thing a while back, sitting in the barn where it was parked back in 1946. Well, at least that's what the steel tags on the plates said.

Thought it would be good to resurface this one to see how many new Hudson owners on the HAMB now and include my 53 Super Wasp.
