Anyways, here is the 4 link I built for the rear of my '62 Monterey Wagon.

nice bellcrank arrangement on the shocks....how does it ride?

 

On a bellcrank set up like this, is it a 1:1 ratio on the different sides, or do you change that up to achieve something diffferent?

 

Either way. If you want a longer travel shock than you would use in a normal install, it will provide smoother damping and a bit more tuning range. If you don't have room for a shock with adequate travel, you can shorten that side to use a shorter stroke. And then 1:1 works, too.

Mine are slightly longer on the axle side to get more travel than the shock would allow. My install isn't as slick, but I built it for severe duty.

Bell crank is 1 to 1. Ride quality is very nice. I switched from 225# to 275# springs to try to make it hurt a little. Still rides very (too) nice.

 

What kind of shocks do you use? I have always heard shocks wont work at this angle? something about how the oil ends up sitting in the chamber doesnt allow the vaves to work properly.I love the way those setups look and would definitly like to use something like this in the future.
