No straight axle and it's not really a barn find as everyone knows where it's at. It runs. He just isn't running it. LOL

Yup. 62 Dodge, rare as hens teeth! When I get home, I am going to have to find pics of my dads 63 plymouth grocery getter.

I want to know how Al Corda can run a scoop on his wagon. As far as I know they never made any aluminum nosed wagons. I know that's ancient history, but still curious.

Artwork from midwest mopars t-shirt last year , car has been in my family now for going on 20 years ..

Car was built by Jerry Stein in early 70's and he won Div 2 with it
and "car craft , stock driver of the year"

My nephew is current caretaker of it ..Doubt it will ever leave our family

Factory parts, available over the counter. Dan Dvorak did the same thing (I think that Lawman wagon is his)--their class was figured by vehicle weight and displacement (I think--could be fuzzy on the exact way NHRA figured classes then). There were classes where the most advantage was with a Max Wedge in a 9-passenger wagon. Since the weight had to be "X", and factory parts had to be used, aluminum front ends and light weight Max Wedge heads allowed weight off the front, and it could be repositioned elsewhere if they needed it to make the weight break. In addition to all that extra station wagon weight over the rear tires, the 9-passenger had a complete extra seat behind the rear wheels.

edit: Wrong Lawman...Dvorak had one lettered like that too. That one is Al Eckstrand's, if I'm not mistaken.

One of the most famous Pontiac wagons around for the last 20 years is in this video. I know it is newer than most HAMB cars but you'll enjoy this. Watch these YouTube videos to see and hear what it is like to run 11.50s at 115 MPH in a 4100 pound car! It does it with a 3.31 gear, Q-jet, pump gas, through the mufflers and shifting automatically. You aim it, stab it, and hang on for a smooth and quiet but darn quick ride.

    Tom,
Jim's Wagon is amazing, when I lived in Olathe, I had the pleasure to meet him several times, and watch him tweak the car at KCIR Dragway. He is truley an inspiration as to what can be done with a stock combination. I raced a NHRA Corvette Stock Eliminator for a few years, and it is a blast to spank cars that have tons more done to them. Oh, Scott Blakeney says Hi ! ..... he lives here in Florida near me.
