Time to think about what kind and how to mount tailights/brakelights on my Essex Coach...let's see what's out there...
here some i've done for bikes,i love using L.E.D truck light as a start.their bright as all get up.most are made out of out car lights, the 1 on my chopper is a cab lens of a old peterbuilt truck,i use 32 led lights, they give a real crazy effect when put behind car lens.. http://s946.photobucket.com/albums/ad310/damagedduck/mentally ill/
69-72 Blazer side marker lights modified for use with 1157 bulbs. (I also redid the edges in brass instead of the original chrome). available new aftermarket for a few bucks. flush mount. the Blazer uses this twin lens unit OEM. Russ
What year Essex ? Other guy what year Packard? 56 Would take a lot of work. How about a Model A light or 32, or 33 Ford, Or some thing realy off the wall, like VW monuted on rear fenders?
Well, these were knocked up using some parts I had laying around, but I know they can all be bought aftermarket; If they should float your boat at all here's a link to what can be laughingly described as the tech thread; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=555032 Perhaps I should add the Impala cones fit over the top of the 59 caddy bulb holders, (with a little persuasion) with two screws, which means you could flush mount them if you didn't want the hassle of Frenching. Hope this is of some help to you, good luck whatever you decide. Paul
I'd like to see the car to determine what lights might be appropriate for the style of car. A rod would use something different than say a stock look, or custom look.
