That's because '58-'60 is a body style unto its own, and different (as we can all see) from the '61-'66 trucks.
Body style changes again in '67 and lasts through '76.

Nuthin' wrong with the older "first square" styling.
    I kinda like it, actually.
A friend of my parents, who us kids called "Uncle Joe", had a '60 once. Never did know why he did this (or if he even did the conversion), but it was powered by a 270 GMC 6-cylinder.

    I have a few SLICKS.

This is my 1965 with its original paint, interior. I freshened up the engine bay, engine, trans etc. A one family owned super nice driver.

Here is a picture of a picture of my 1963 F100 Unibody. It is powered by a 292 Y-block with 312 heads and T-Bird exhaust manifolds going back to Cherry Bombs to some big balogna tips. The next pic is of my son sitting inside of it. The next is of a standard bed with unibody rear fenders followed by some more laid out 100's

Here is my 66' F100, mostly stock 352/4 speed, planned disk brake swap, and maybe a 3 speed OD transmission for an 85' F150[IMG]
