Here is the 347 in the chassis for my 57 Starchief. Basically a stock rebuild, +.030, Holley carb, HEI distributor and a mild Crane cam. That is a factory power steering pump and generator set-up. Also has the hydro trans behind it. Note the water inlets going to the heads first. Pontiac did this on their early v8's and GM recycled the idea for their LT-1 engines in the 90's.

When I help people it's based on FACT.

When I offer an opinion, I always make sure to state that first, "This is an opinion."

It's v-e-r-y important to know the difference.

Your "god" and "get off the throne" comments are unfounded.

How about the next time you "feel" or "think" what I do is impossible, (RE: 672 hp 350 ci) just pull out your wallet.

And BTW: I was always on topic til you wryly tried to smear me.

This was in the 59 Pontiac we purchased and gave away at Beach Hop 08. Worked 428cu Pontiac which was a strong motor. I'm a fan of Pontiac engines now... this engine would have been a lot of fun in a light roadster....

  10. Here is a picture of my son's '26 Model T.

    It has a 1962 Tempest 194.5 4 cylinder.

And yes, it has the transaxle as well.

Still ironing out a bunch of stuff, but we have driven it, and it is a friggin' blast!!!:D

What is your favorite Ponch block color? The metalic blues, the solid blues or turquoise? Gary

When I built that 672 hp Pontiac 350 at 9.5 Cr. many people figured it was fake. I like to meet those doubters on the starting line. ! :)

    Sorry men...I have to ask..

    Bruce.....
On YOUR web site the 672 HP is with N2O !!
    You didn't mention that here...;)
    1.54 HP per C.I. is believable...naturally asperated...
Tell me how you can run the spray/fogger with 87 octane & 42 degrees of timing !!
    Just curious...<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

My favorite is the light blue metallic that was used on the 66-70 Pontiacs.

But all the engines I have had in my race car I painted black...

Hey Jeff...is black for a thermal deal ??? I have heard of guys painting aluminum heads black for this reason..
I left my aluminum heads & intake natural aluminum color with block
    lt. Blue...
I like the light Blue...but Metallic Blue ain't bad...

Very nice detail man...I had a 57 Safari wagon but lost it in a divorce sale..Grrrrr:( Pontiac changed the cooling around in 60. My 58 & 59 had the "head first" cooling. Some reffer to it as reverse cooling.

That was part of the reason, not sure if it really makes that much difference. Plus I though black looked more, um..business like.;)

Could you take an aftermarket hemi head from Hot Heads and not drill the bolt holes to fit a dodge but drill to fit a pontiac? Would things line up?

Hey Bruce, you always draw a crowd.:D

If you want a potent street/strip Pontiac....get this book. It has a wealth of tips and parts info. Jim Hand has spent a lifetime making Pontiacs fly....but still be streetable....:) Most all of his builds use "stock" Pontiac parts....
I learned a lot from Jim...
I'm sure VOETOM could enlighten you where to get a copy....;)

    Thought that was you Tom...

Ya got to remember they haven't made a traditional Pontiac V-8 since the 70's....Sort of have a need for aftermarket parts....a good thing is Pontiac made a lot of V-8's.
I have saw Jim's Tempest wagon run.....it was flying even with the 3.36 gears !!!
Very low 11's I think...maybe Tom can help me...;)

I'm partial to the light blue. This goes in my 65 GTO B/MP drag car.

Thanks a lot! Just looking at the pics I forgot to mention I'll be dumping the original fan for an electric. Raw deal with your Safari, maybe you could post a few pics and make us all feel a little better!

Have to see what I can find..it's been a while..
I hated to loose that car...one of 1,157..( I think).
I bought it off John Throop who's mentioned in some other posts on here..
    He raced a 57...

  27. Yes I did.

I ended up having to shorten it about 25.5 inches. I shortened the housing and then the shaft and it seems to be holding.

One of my axles was bent and I have to get some longer springs to fix the camber, but it will all come together.

speaking of hard to find parts, does anyone make header flanges, and aftermarket multi 2bl intake manifolds, or even a multi weber setup?

D-port and Round port flanges can be bought form Hedman. Other than BG's tri power nothing cool is being made.
