A little off topic, but how about a pic of a vintage DUI ticket? My dad was killed in an accident in his 40 Ford 2 door sedan in 1956. This was in his wallet at that time.

I took these pics on 4th of July 2006, after a parade I participated in wich included retired emergency vehicles of all eras in Tujunga (A small town about 9 miles Northwest of Pasadena) where I used to live. They both belong to LAPD officers (owner of the 55 is retired).

I never have been able to post multiple pictures. Here's a speeder catcher attachment to the front of a patrol car in Portland. I don't think it ever got beyond the experiment stage. Picture is dated 1937, don't know if that's correct.

my mom was '63 in Arcadia. (i'm almost certain on year). dad was San Marino same year. in about '66 he was volunteer PD, and it might have been in Arcadia (that's where their first house was). i'll ask him what department it was, and if it was Arcadia PD i'll shoot a PM over and we can try the name game, he might have known your dad.

As a young driver one of these things in my mirror struck terror in my heart. California Highway Patrol 69 Dodge Polara. 440 Magnums HAULED ASS:eek: Claimed to be the fastest car ever used by the CHP

    Cool pics, cool thread!!!
I ever wondered if 1959 El Caminos were used as police cars. Or, not even for police cars, but maybe as utility cars for park rangers.
