  7. One of my favorites:

Runs in the nines and tens depending on what engine is in the car.
I've seen 425 Olds and a few different 455 Olds in it.
Heard that a Rat Motor was tried, but he went back to an Olds last I heard.

(He built the trans in my 32 in 92 and it's still working fine.)

One of my all time favorite cars, just missed an exceptionally clean one back in the day.
Was gonna pull the Rocket Motor in the 50 Ford coupe, install it in the Chevy and probably an Olds or Pontiac rear, buy an extra pair of rear fenders, open em up for big slicks and go drag racing.

The original fenders would have been installed for reversion to sleeper mode via a somewhat quick change retainment setup.

Interesting that most of them you see today are customs or restos and seldom hot rodded.

I wouldn't mind finding one of these body styles that's been badged as an Olds.

I think the hood is longer, but aside from the rear suspension and perhaps heavier frame they are virtually twins vis a vis body.

Saw more than a few of these back in the day with Rocket Motors, one with a Nailhead and when the little Chevy came on the scene it became the motor of choice.

Somethin' about breathing and revving I think....:D

I found this one. I have a straight axle from a 67 chevy van and a 427 with fenderwell headers but I don't think I'm going to do it.

A friend of mine has had one for sale for the last year and I have been ignoring it, I'm gonna have to take a close look at it after going thru this thread. I never realized how good they can look.

  25. I was looking at this thread and found it a little depressing that post #18 is my car in Nov 2007 and it's still not done. I've done a ton of work to it but this is what it looks like now. Should be painted in the next few months.
