Good luck trying to decide what direction to go. I would by at three coupes.
That way you could not go wrong. Couple of my favorites. Not 51s but they
are coupes.......

Something about the rear window on the black one posted above doesn't sit right with me. I dunno if it's just me but the rear window looks like it was laid back at the wrong angle. It almost looks to "flat" compared to the rest of the top. Maybe it's just me ??

I am not a fan of chop tops in general...most look out of proportion to me. This one looks like something collapsed in the middle from the different angles.

But that is just me...I see very few chops that I like. I know they are a lot of work and I respect the guys that do them because i could never do it...but I just like the tops stock 99% of the time.

I'm going to give this guy a long overdue 'bump' up to the top. I love these cars

 

Thought I might as well, through mine in to, even though its not in the class as the others on here!!(needs lots of work, but I have finally made a driver out of it)

 

Mine must be a half breed!!
Its got a back seat, radio, sun visers, cig lighter,etc, and part of the side chrome, but the rear windows dont slide

Great looking cars, I think they look really good lowered and unchopped, the whole time I had my 54 I secretly wished it was a few years earlier ha ha

 

same for the '53 I had

The 49-52's have way better body lines, and they also lend themselves to chopping better. Chopped '54/'54 Chevs rarely do much for me

 

I need to get this one out of hiding. The kid that owns is in Iraq and wont be home for another year.

the interior that is in it now is amazing...I saw it on the HAMB and showed my wife and she punched me for getting rid of it.
