Hopefully this is the year i finally get mine driveable . Was able to work a deal on some parts im going to need the other day so i took a big chunk out of the budget with that trade.

No improving the shape of a '55 Nomad. The clean quarters with the arched wheelwell is art.
That looks great! Love the red interior. Very nice.
Still working on the 283. It's a 66 block that I have converted to full roller setup. Nice 202 heads that have be port matched. Good aluminim edlebrock semi-hi rise intake with a 600cfm holley and a "rolling thunder" cam with some rumpty rump. Good 5 speed from Tremec (T600) and planning on a 383 set of gears with a posi. Should smok'm
i love this car. Radiused wheelwells, straight axle ..........
That car looks an awful lot like one that used to be here in MD

My old Nomad and my first Drag Car
Anyone from Chevrolet explain the reason for the change for the Nomad quarters? Just styling? Wonder what one would look like with the standard trim.
Here are 3 of my 55's. My first Nomad in 1976.
My 2nd Nomad in 1979.
My 55 2-door in it's first incarnation 1985

Looks good 3windo. I got my 55 when I was 18. 41 years ago. Hang on to that thing my friend.
tinker with Grandpa as much as you can. You'll probably learn a lot and have all those memories in the future.
Here's my Nomad.
Well since you didn't specify cars, here's my '55 Chevy pickup.
...and here's my 55 p.u. project, it ain't smokin tires yet!
I notice the Gas Monkey Garage gasser in the background as well...whats that doing there??
Unrestored,original paint,23k miles,just out of sleeping in garage/barn since 1963
Do tell the story and lets see inside and under the hood.
What a great score!
Lucky you !
Heard of car about 20 years ago but location was a secret, was not able to see car until couple years ago when my buddy tripped over it by accident.Woman bought car new,I have bunch of neat original paperwork. She gave up driving car in 63 and car sat until late 80's when guy I bought car was able to buy the car,he knew about it and chased it since 1978 and he never did anything with it.I think he wanted it to be a father-son build but kid was not into car.Guy I got it from had gathered up 265 for it but it never happened.
Mr Chevy is bad ass car. I saw it at the Don Garlits museum.
