  2. Just for fun, I posted these pics in a '40 group on FB. The wheels are late '70s Ford OEM truck slots that I had put on my '54 F100. I swapped them on the stake truck to road test to see if I had some balance issues with them or if it was an issue on the '54. They rolled smooth, but I had to get some obligatory photos.

Kinda out of place on the truck, but definitely gave it some "Peoria era" vibes. ;-)

  10. This Y-block powered Deluxe is a locally owned car, and is an old hot rod. I don't know if it was locally built.

Orville has owned that '40 for over 50 years. It is more of a copper/bronze than red. @okiedokie might be able to tell you the actual color as he and Orville were neighbors who both owned '40 Ford coupes.

  14. Orville is a cool dude. I visited with him at the NSRA MidAm Nats and over at the Gathering at the Roc. He was in his deuce woodie at both events.

I am pretty sure the Orville considered it Honduras Maroon. He still owns it and maybe someday we will see it on the road again. He drove the wheels off of it so it needs a full resto. My fingers are crossd.

The Nash grille  I don’t usually approve of chopped 40’s but this one seems well executed.
Most eliminate the rain gutter which IMO ruins the style line of the coupe.

  22. ^^^Strangely enough, I think that bathtub Nash grille and the front fender/headlight mods kinda work when compared against fat-fendered post-war cars, but then again it's a '40 Ford, which doesn't need anything done to it to begin with.
