Here is a pic of my grandpa’s ‘40. He owned this when he married my grandma. Skirts and shortened hood trim. Not a skirt guy but my parents have owned a ‘40 standard coupe since ‘84.

Its been 12 years since I traded her off towards a 32 roadster, it will be nice to get the new replacement soon.

 

I was always a fan of that '40 sedan!

 

Guys, the ole girl is leaving her home of 79 years and is moving to Missouri today. The owner was sad to see her go and hopes that I will pamper her like he did which I assured him that I would take good care of the ole gal. I hope she likes her new home as much as I like seeing her come and stay the rest of my life. And I made a very nice new friend out of the deal; life just can't be better.

Just a great 40, congrats.

 

It's amazing what a simple stance and tire change can do to a 40. That coupe is perfect with just a few simple alterations done to it.

Hub Caps Are A Easy Change Back To The Olde Days...

 

After chasing this car for 20 years and owning it for 12 years it's of to the new owner. Tough to see it go.

 

@LOWDUG37, I can assure you that it has found a FANTASTIC home with Sonny. I am looking forward to seeing it when Sonny brings it down to Springfield, MO, for a visit.

 

And I am like an expectant father in the waiting room for the delivery to be over with.

 

Latest 40 std-Done and off to new home. Really like the grey coupe! Time to find another one.

Now that's an interesting photo. Must be a club? All hotrod/modified coupes.

 

39guy-my time about 450 hrs-plus wife's time-10-11 weeks. Paint etc took a good while and was stalled for uph for 4 months as well-he was backed up a good bit.
Been driving it around a bit to get bugs out between rain storms-all good-drives great and the 327 is pretty spunky too.
