My co-pilot from the trip to Bonneville Speed-week this past August just sent me a few shots from our trip. I thought I would share here since I check this thread on a regular basis and perhaps don't contribute enough. As mentioned in this thread before, we did over 4000 miles in 12 days on my untested '40 coupe. What a great trip! The road shots were taken from 'Axle34's 1932 Ford coupe. We both drove out with the Rolling Bones but returned to Michigan with just his 32 and my 40. The images with buildings in the background are from the Wendover Airfield which is adjacent to the Salt Flats. The air field is actually where the Enola Gay was stationed and practiced during WW2. If you have not made the pilgrimage out to Speedweek, you have to put it on your list.

This winter the coupe will get it's hood installed along with a better grille that I have. I have a host of other little things to do that I did not have time for before the big trip as well. The primer from 1963, which was shot over the original black paint, will be staying, at least for a while. I look forward to more adventures with the coupe next summer. Man these cars are fun!

Yes Crusty Chevy, American Racing Torque Thrust. 15"x5" front (with 155/80R15) and 15"x7" rear (with 235/70R15).

They would look good on your coupe and it is hard to beat the price! Good luck with your build and contact me if there is ever any info or other ways I could help.

 

I'll take a risk here and hope the mods don't delete this because I think some of you might like it. It is a 40 ford Trailer .I think it has been around for awhile. I think a guy named Don Pennington either made or had it made in conjunction with Dee Wescott. I believe Don lived in Vancouver Washington area and was well know for automotive art work.If any of you has any more information about Don or the trailer please let me know. What am I going to do with it? Well I think it might look pretty good behind one of my 39's. I may have to change out the tail lights though. It does have some road rash so it obviously was used a lot in the past. So I will need to freshen up with a little body work and some paint.

I would imagine you would have to custom bend the 3 rib bumper to get that shape but they are still available from Brizz. See address below.

That trunk will carry a couple sets of sticks and a golf cooler!

 

And if you empty the cooler at the 19th hole and need to take a nap you can throw out the sticks and the cooler, crawl in and take a nap. Maybe I should pass it on to a golfer I know........

 

Or those cold nights when the wife suggests you sleep elsewhere...not that it has happened of course, just saying.

Family and I took our 40 on our annual Christmas tree hunting trip. We only took a couple of photos.
