wow, that convertible is SOME NICE, Socal34! Did you see the one that sold on Mecum-Kansas City the other night on TV? Was non-stock color (black cherry), black top unchopped, stock drive train with the exception of Fenton headers for dual exhaust. Brought $45K which I was surprised at, seemed cheaper than I expected.

Here's my 1939 just out of 35+ years slumber. 14 years in a garage in Illinois. It spent the last 21 years in the shed near the red truck. Couldn't resist adding it.
Headlights are the JC Whitney type conversion. The small cat eyes are now my blinkers along with those goofy fog lites.
A few other posts mentioned using 39 headlights on a 40. I considered replacing these with original 39 buckets and rims with a modern bulb or using the chrome 40 Ford rims. Probably will need the 40 buckets.

The black one was built from a real steel '39, and is beautifully detailed as a '40 Dlx. It still has a rumble-sized trunk lid, though. I believe the gold one is fiberglass, and was made with a '39-style cockpit but a '40 trunk lid. They are cool looking, aren't they?

The black one was part of Chris Unger's collection in Orange, Ca., had a Chrisman flathead as I recall.

'41 Studebaker. Because they are very hard to find, Dick (and others) make repops of them. I have a set on my car, too.

Thanks Mr.50. I like the looks of those as much as the early Vette tail lights. I have '39 fenders on my car because the wheel well's were already opened-up. And I didn't want to mess up my '40 fenders. But I think I am already done looking at the "tear drop lights". Looking for some thing different. These might just be it. Thanks, Gene.

Yes, the black one is the one you posted a picture of. That one is my buddies, and the flathead you made mention of. He built and runs just as good as it looks.
