Same here. How could you improve on that ?

 

That is a WAY nicer one than mine! Hope it does well at auction and hopefully I can track down it's new owner after it sells. As of now, this makes about the 8th or 9th 40/41 stake trucks that I am aware of that have survived.

40's really, really need hoods. I think most cars benefit from at least the hood top but a 40 sans hood is no bueno!

I totally agree about hoods on '40s Billy, plus 38/39. I also have an extreme dislike of the canted quad headlights some install in them.

 

I think what it comes down to in regards to both subjects, is that the factory 39/40 (and 41 PU) is just a tough act to improve upon.

I agree, I was just being sarcastic (a smart ass)! As you can see the hood hinges are in place.
