Wow, i.rant, I saw that convert on the net today from the SEMA show, belongs to Lokar founder. Started as a '40 convertible and now look at it! While some changes aren't my cup of tea, you gotta be impressed with the work that went into it.

Here are some more pictures posted by Hemi32 of Debbi Wall's 40 Convertible at this years SEMA show. Built by Goolsby Customs. The top treatment looks very similar to Tony Miller's convertible..

From Lynn Pew's blog today, he writes this tub is rumored to be one of six '40 phaetons built for the World's Fair. More '40 pics today on Lynn's blog at www.pewsplace.com.

That phaeton was Art Branum's, Mr. 40's. If I remember correctly, it was a 39 when he bought it and put the 40 front on it.

Okay,so we know this car sold at auction recently but does anyone know more about it's history or future plans for it? I am also curious about it's current condition. Anybody here have some info?

I saw the 40 tub at Art's place near Paso about 2002 when we went there to buy some parts.

So some of the questions have been answered. The thread below talks about it. See thread post #16.

    https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/anyone-know-anything-about-this-car.1084952/

Apparently Gear Jammer currently of Arizona worked on the car in the 80's. It was a 39 Standard in the beginning. It was last owned by Thomas W Robinson of Westerville Ohio. The car has been sitting outside for at least 21 years. It old for $4500.00 Still no detailed description of it's current condition.
