A couple of shots of my late Uncle Bob and his 40 convertible. I don't have any explanation for the boxers and boots photo. He is the man responsible for my owning my coupe and the 40 stake truck. Glad I didn't get his sense of style!

 

Check out those running lights and horn, guess that was a fore runner to the train horns.

 

I.rant, I really like the firewall treatment on the burgandy coupe! I'm in the process of putting a new engine in my '40, like that white firewall! Thanks for the bump!

 

I'm going to guess he washed his car in a bathing suit and boots.

...........That's hilarious!...At our age, we have to exercise the brain as much as the body just to keep it functioning. That walk to the bookshelf to get the dictionary doesn't hurt either.

 

LOL,glad you looked that up olcurmugeon as I was just going to complain about having to go to the dictionary to figure out what Don was trying to say. Reminds me of the times I have written to the editors of Street Rodder , Hot Rod magazines and to Ryan to remind them the average reader of their magazines do not use or aspire to use some of those 20 letter words they had to use in college to get that degree. I agree that is a great looking coupe!

Saw that pink 40 at the relix riot

 

While on a custom theme, another one of the type we'd see at '60s winter indoor car shows when I was fresh out of high school. Generally displayed with a bale or two of "angel hair" and the tri-color rotating spot lights.

 

That coupe looks a lot like my current 40. What year do you think this picture was taken?
