Nice shots--the cream one with orange wheels is our old one we did in 03-sold it in 05-in the album. That shot is at Canepa's about 3 yrs ago. Think it's in the Central Valley now-color is H.D cream.

Nice coupe olscrounger! I don't know how you can build em and pass em on like you do but there are certainly some happy fellas without your talents that are enjoying them now:)

The two cloudmist grey 40 std sedans above look like Ray Brown cars-the one with cream wheels was also shot at Canepa's I think about the time the HD cream coupe was there. The other one may live within a few miles of here. There is a 40 only show this Saturday-I will try to get some shots of 40's there.

  9. This one belonged to the late (great) Dick Applegate out of New Jersey. I'm not sure who initially built it or where he bought it. Neat car, great guy.

  11. ....................Was it Dick Applegate who owned that Hemi-powered Willys that the Hot Rod Garage built a few years ago?

  12. Yes it was Don. It's my favorite modern style willys build!
Sorry, but I have to post a couple of pictures of it since you brought it up. :)

  13. That is one beautiful car and I don't think anyone will have a problem with the posting of the pictures as a tribute to Mr. Applegate.

Just a sneak peek at the frontend going together for my '40 Standard sedan...dropped '36 axle by titus, shaved F1 spindles, F1 brakes, split '36 bones with my own tapered weld in bungs, and bolt on drop steering arms...I'll be reversing the main spring leaf today and repacking it with 10 leafs and painting the spring pack black by the evening...and here's a little louvered hood action for ya as well...

There is no listing for any "brown" in 40 for either standard cars or commercial vehicles, not sure about Deluxe models.According to The V-8 Album there were special order options for paint choices.

I dug a little and came up with Tropical Sand, it's a Lincoln color from 40.
