Coffee this morning...
A friend bought this 40 last summer from a widow who was selling it on Hemmings. My friend bought it sight unseen and he thought he was buying an old stock coupe. Once he met me one day, he soon learned that he had bought an old build hot rod. It has a hopped up 46 to 48 59 engine with an 11 inch clutch and 39 tranny and its fast. I've taught him all kinds of things about the car and he has been very grateful for
all that I have told him. He's a nice guy and very lucky.
I've reluctantly decided to put my Fordor up for sale. If interested, check it out on the HAMB Cars For Sale. Hope everyone has a good 4th of July.
I WISH I had the funds for it. I've had a crush on that car for a LONG time.
Running through the Badlands in South Dakota.
It’s not much, but I took it on it’s first real test drive. Went to pick up my daughter from the neighbor’s. Didn’t leave the neighborhood, but it was a good test of the brakes, they have a really steep and long driveway.

Do you have your own parking space and booth @ Scotty B's?!?
I get my parking spot when I am the first one there!!
Geez Dave, you go everywhere in your '40. I'm impressed & a little jealous.
Glad to see you and your group for our rod run!! You guys have some nice cars. Great to see you drive them!!
At the cruise nite in Buchanan, Ga. Had to try out the new rear Coker wider WWs.
Moriarity, do you own that restaurant?
haha, no, I just eat there a lot....
Stopped by Aladdin Cafe population 15 on the way to Devils Tower. Fun in Wyoming
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ If that second pic is "The Devil's Tower" it is certainly appropriately named. That's one sinister looking bump in the terrain. How tall does it stand above surrounding area?
The tower rises 867’ above its base.
Cruising through Yellowstone today. Amazing taking route 14-16 out to Cody Wyoming.
Stopped by Pete and Jakes on the home from MN.
Taking a break after the the long climb up in Big Horn National Forest, amazing sights.
My Olde Coupe With 59A And Twice Pipes...
my mom & her 3 cousins drove from Omaha to California in a 40 Ford sedan in August 1940. They spent the 1st night in Wyoming driving from 400am to 900pm. I traveled from Denver to Des Moines for the Good-Guys meet July 4th. I decided to re-create her trip in my 40 on the way home. I took the old Lincoln Hwy (now hwy 30) from Omaha to Wyoming avoiding modern comforts as much as I could, no a/c, AM radio when possible, learned a lot about cattle futures whatever they are, half-hourly updates of the Crawford County livestock market prices, way too much country music, no chain hotels or restaurants. I stopped to take as many old bldg pics as I could. I drove thru a horrible thunderstorm that later flooded Kearney, NE. I stopped at the Lazy K motel in Ogalalla, NE for the night. I saw the last Union Pacific steam locomotive, the Big Boy in Lodgepole, NE pop 200. starting back up after the train stop I had a real bad vibration. no tire shop or repair shop in town so I limped 18 miles to Sidney, NE at 25mph. I found a Chev dealer & they were great, got me right in & found a broken u-joint snap ring. a new u-joint, 1-1/2 hrs, $140 later I was on my way. pretty boring countryside after that. 1st pic is my mom in the frt window.
Next year head east on old Lincoln Way and come see my 40's in Marshalltown. They aren't really impressive, and we listen to country music here too, but at least we have cold drinks and AC.
My little bro lives right smack on old Lincoln Way, but he doesn't have any 40's (yet).
