The shop that finished my Coupe just picked up this gem.

 

Good luck with the coupe project. Nice to see another one saved. I did a really rough one about 7 years ago.

 

The 40 Coupe after sand blasting. It was an old former stock car I bought from Atlanta, Ga area about 10 years ago.

Thanks - I put this one together for my son when we was about 3 or 4 years old - At the time - my Dad just retired and my plan was to have 3 generations of 1940 Ford owners. My Dad passed 2 few months ago in his mid 70's - too young. Now we are working on Dad's '39 Coupe he bought in 1959 and needs "re-restored" - my 17 year old son really enjoys working on Pop pop's Gold Coupe. I have more 39/40 Fords than time to build - if my son likes these old Ford - his ship has come in.

 

This one is for sale on craigslist right now. I have no connection to it. I also don't have room for it. I thought I would let one of you guys know about it.

NICE - Sedan - I wish I had less unfinished projects and more space - this would be a great project for a 1950's look.

 

Lets take another look at your problem Mike................Nope I don't see a problem. If you have to be stuck on one particular body style you have chosen a good one to be stuck on! I hope your son develops a similar 39/40 affliction and continues to enjoy the hobby with you.

 

Sometimes we do crazy things. This is my latest one. Cleaning and painting the 283 that I'm gonna swap into the 40 stake truck, while the 40 coupe was keeping an eye on me. Swapping out the 30/30 Cam for an Elgin 1785, and will finish painting the intake and oil pan once that is finished up. Black rams horns planned for the exhaust.

 

The old truck should like that modern engine! I started calling those small bock Chevies "fits Good" years ago when so many people would ask why did you put that Chevy in your Ford? I don't want to start an argument with that comment by the way.

Will he be happy when he sees it with a dropped Henry axle in it? LOL I haven't heard yet status on the axle since I sent it off with Jeff.

Doing "The Moriarity" while taking the 40 stake truck for a ride with the 283 in it. Saw no performance improvement. ;-)

 

Taken at a local show last night.

 

Drove the Coupe to a small show at the Jersey Shore, then took the Sedan to a local evening event near my house. First time out with the Sedan in 1 1/2 years after engine rebuild, clutch, brakes and under hood detail. This thing now runs better than any time in my 45 years of ownership.
