Will you be using the drip rail trim? Will you be using the stock quarter windows? I can't find the regulators for my '51 If you are not using yours, don't throw them away.
I can't explain the wood; I wasn't there when this photo was taken. The roof has never been off prior to this round of modifications, so I assume that the wood was original to the car.
Yes to the driprail trim, no to the quarter windows. These quarter windows are longer and lower than the stock ones were. I will be using the regulators.
Thanksgiving has me reflecting on the pleasure of chatting with special friends. So, how's the 50 Fraud doin, i.e. the car project?
Slowly making progress on the windows and trim. Both of my helpers quit (one retired, one moved out of the area). So now I'm a one man band. That slows down progress a bit when I have five projects in the shop.
If I can help to determine priorities: I'm probably your most elderly customer, so you want to finish my project before I expire.
@DRD57 Happy Birthday, hows @50Fraud's present coming along... ...seriously have a great day with a little candle extinguishing, cake, some spirit and a present or two...
I've seen some pictures now that hint at what the car will look like when it's finished. It's not quite far enough along to post pictures, but IMO it's looking really good! Sorry for the tease.
OK. Don said that I can post this picture. It's not done yet; there's a bunch of trim around the windows that has to be plated and then installed, and there's no glass in it yet. The windwings will also be reduced a bit in size. But you can see the shape pretty well:
That pic makes the car look long and lean. I'm always amazed at how the perception is changed by body mods and colors. Looks great! Don did good, again.
