Projects Lets Build a hood and Make a few changes.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Nitro-Flattie1, Aug 4, 2009.

  1. So for about a year now Ive been wanting to do a top hood for the "Ranch Hand". I had a few conversations with 2 guys who i have alot of respect for making this happen. I passed the torch to my Friend Aaron "LastChance" here on the H.A.M.B. & this is what happened.

Here are the pictures that we took... Enjoy. :D

    The template...

  2. So a few things that are going to happen on the engine...
The fan set up and generator bracket and the oil filter are coming off. They are going to the powder coater to get dressed up in glossy black.

The radiator hoses are coming off...They are being replaced with some chrome pipes.

I ditched the open headers and replaced them with some center dump headers...I ran a set of smithys with some 1 3/4's out the back.

  3. Clever low profile hood brackets...
We'll paint the ones on the cowl to match the body...

Very nicely done... I love hoods, it's good to see them making a comeback.

    Wow! Beautiful work!

  12. Very well detailed! I like the way you mimicked the factory '33 shape at the front where it meets the grille shell.

We (meaning me and the other HAMB'ers) would like to see how the bead was done, in particular the way it tapers down in the front.

Wow!! That hood really ties this truck together. I've never really been a fan of a 33-34 passenger car grille on anything other than a 33-34 passenger car, but with the well fit hood, it looks like it was meant to be there. Nice job!

  14. I'll get some pictures of the brackets this morning.

  15. I'll try to get Aaron to chime in on the bead. He still has a handful of pictures that we need to upload.

  16. Thanks! I'm really happy with the hood. Aaron did a great job!
