leftover tech.........

    I searched but did not see this tech, so here ya go.
    I needed a nut plate last Sat after noon, and the only place i could get one was already closed for the day. Wanting to press on with the project i started to work on an alternitive and found myself at Low's siffting through their hardware section.
    Something caught my eye and almost like the V8 juice commercial i smacked my head!
    Of course! The wood nuts without their tangs can easely be tacked anywhere you want a well nut or blind fastener!
    For a well nut drill your hole a little bigger than nut barrel, grind the wood tangs off, and tack her in. For a blind fastener, there are endless bracketry uses. They come in a variety of sizes for mostly light to moderate duty jobs, so grabbed a handfull of each, and their cheap to boot! :D

    Ok , i just discovered that you can get them up to 1/2", but i'd use aircraft fasteners or nutplates in that case.
