Hot Rods Leaf Spring Liner

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by blackjack, Nov 26, 2018.

  1. I’ve fitted leaf spring liner to the Model A Tudor spring I’m using on the back of my 27 Modified. It’s the type that curls around the edges of the spring.

Should I trim away the edges on the section of spring that fits inside the cross member or leave it and just jam it in there by tightening up the clamps?

Can't say that you should or shouldn't. I did not trim on my 34. It may have not slid into place as easy as if I had trimmed but wasn't really an issue as far as I can tell

  4. It's easy to do now the car is in build up so I will trim it.

What did you do about that straps holding the spring package together? make a wider one or did you trim the vynl - I'm pondering what to do myself.
