I spoke to Larry a lot on the phone when I was restoring the "Druid Princess"
He Helped me with the veiling process and told me just how to go about it and what to use and how to set up my spray gun. We had a lot of laughs in those phone talks. It was great to finely meet him and Thank him in person and tell him what a Hero he was to an east coast kid.
He truly was a blast and a great guy to know!
the only pic I have is of Larry & myself at the "Orbitron" party.
Candy paint will never be the same, it lost a little shine today.
    see ya Larry.

    R.I.P. Larry.
I graduated from Artesia HS in 1963 and hung out on Bellflower Blvd. as much as I could where Larry was the coolest.

  23. And I know Randy Rhoades ( Grapevine Clone) wants to say something on here because he was a very close friend of Larry's and is in california right now, but he can't get on the internet right now...he keeps losing connection. So for now...

Sad to lose another hero. The grapevine is one of those cars that turns your brain inside out the first time you lay eyes on it. Love that car.

My heart goes out to his friends and family.

He will be missed but never forgotten, not around here at least...

A true Friend, Artist and Teacher. Larry is probably one of the most imitated and unsung heroes of Kustom Painting. But, as they say, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". That man changed the game, several times over. He will be missed, never forgotton and forever an inspiration. Much Love and Respect to Mr. Larry Watson.

It just aint right to see them go. where they lead, we will follow, but they're the pioneers and that can't be replaced. Larry Watson was a great man, i enjoyed conversation with him and have great memories of one of my idols.
thanks for everything Larry, you will be missed.
xoxo and thoughts to the Watson family.
