Hey guys I've been working on my model a For a while. Any input on lake headers or ram horns? Motor is just for mock up. Will run tri power, 32 shell and keep white walls. Still need to install subrails and mount body. Just thinking ahead. 20180722_154709.jpg 20180728_183757.jpg

Where would you route the rest of the exhaust if you used the rams horns?

Ram horns are cool. But man, a fenderless model A? Lakes for sure.

Original ram horns do look good, but not if your after better performance outa your motor. Throw it on a dyno
and you'll see the surprising difference. Coupe looks good so far.

Lake headers are cool but I’d route them back. If open very loud and ear plugs optional. Lots of pros and cons.

I have the speedway rams horns on my 32 and Lakes on my T modified. I like them both. If you are going to run a hood I would say rams if open Lakes.

I agree with rusty rocket. On my sedan I took a pair of center dumps, ground off casting marks, lumps and bumps and had them coated. It worked out pretty well. On my coupe I run hoodless and have the pipes. Besides hoods belong in jail. Call Matt at Gear Drive for Lakes.

It depends on the overall theme of the car. If you are going for a "road" version of a fenderless highboy then the ram horn manifolds will look and work best. On a 'bad boy" coupe the headers will look better. Finalize your theme, then pick the exhaust to match.

Run the ram horns and doing tuneup will be a lot cooler on your body - and I Don't mean the car body.

Baffles in mine make them very tolerable, and sound great. Cheep too!

Lakes look a lot more hotrod.

  12. In my mind small block powered hot rods should have rams horns or long tube headers. Granted I am not the same as everyone else and in my mind has nothing to do with what anyone should do.
