So, my wife is helping someone dispose of stuff from an estate sale. She has a nice rectangular table cloth. 68"x102". Do painters still do lace paint on customs? My sweetie threw it over a colorful bedspread, which made me think of candy lace paint.
I've seen a few laced roof jobs done around here lately. That is a huge piece of lace if it's all one continuous pattern, would be worthy of painting if your wife is willing to part with it.
I think it's more popular now then back in the day, those that know how to do it still use it! Look at all the Metalflake that is back as well, especially on roofs.
I follow some custom painters/ paint pages on instagram and i would say i see a different lace paint job, either on a car, motorcycle tank, helmet, panel, etc probably everyday. I've never tried to do one with it, but ive been looking for an excuse to give it a try
I put lace and scales on my sons beater guitar a couple of years ago. Haven't had a chance to try it on a car yet.
Lace is pretty popular. I'd keep it if I were you. I've got a big box in my shop, If I find cheap lace with a good pattern I buy it.
