We just got back from seeing it, great movie, killer cars, and a bloody good story, its on limited release, as it was a Sundance entrant, but I'll be buying it the day it comes out to add to the collection for sure. http://lamissionthemovie.com/
wow didnt know it got that far out that way yet.... i wanna go see it the rest of my club has gone they used alot of our cars
I guess El Gallo Negro has grown up! A friend of mine got to see it at a screening in San Francisco. He said it's pretty good.
I noticed some of Mr Wims striping on the movie's website Indeed....very cool movie It is See above...
Those two were in blood in blood out together. I forget the dudes name but, he was the painter in blood in blood out. Looks good. I'll wait till the dvd comes out.
you mean gay son, right? i almost wanted to go see it till i found out about the man on man love affair.
I want to see it, but it's conveniently "not showing" in my area. Kinda pissed about that. I gotta drive to freakin' Texas if I want to see it.
Some of you are sounding like "homophobes". I say, it looks like its a good movie with a powerful story to tell, made even better by the fact that they show some bad ass bombs.
I tried to go when it was playing in Chicago two weeks ago...one showing, one night only, but wasn't able to leave Detroit on time to make it....now, it doesn't appear to be coming to the Detroit area... ..."Blood In Blood Out" is a fantastic movie...I watch it about once-a-month...having seen the trailer for "La Mission", and with both "Paco" & "Cruz" in it, PLUS, traditional, OG lowriders, I'm sure it's gonna be cool...
I was thinking the same thing...I went for the cars & scenery, as I live near San Francisco, and it turned out to be a VERY good movie.
Yep!! Not to mention the fact that, arguably, any press of our little hobby/sub culture is good press.
I heard through the Grape Vine that Javier Mejia makes a special "Cholo" appearance in this major motion film which is rumored to be WAAAAAAAAAY better than Star Wars. In this "special" scene "Javs" is sitting in a 1955 Buick along with two guys named "Cave man" and "Manilla Ice" , and they're building a model. Can't wait to see the film.
went out this past friday to see it in south austin and benjamin bratt, his brother peter the writer and the director jesse borrego were ther afterwards doing a Q and A. it was pretty cool, the wife especially enjoyed the Q&A of course... its a cool movie...
Same here, I was ready to go see the movie until I found out what the plot was about. Man, don't they use closets anymore.
