Anybody know if McPhail's old fairlane got fixed (got side swiped)? I wanted to buy it when he was trying to sell it in the classifieds here a few years back. Always loved that car

@Sancho thanks for the link. I knew the work had started, but never saw it done or in any event coverage. That explains both.

Found a few more kustoms I like...Bob Davis out of Indy owns this fine Chev... DSCN7588.JPG

"Ray" from ColoRODo Springs owns this fine sectioned Chev...haven't seen Ray on the HAMB for a few years, anyone know if he's still around...???
    DSCN8127.JPG

Dick Kroeber's fine fastback, he calls Bartlesville, OK home but prolly most of you know him for his Maroon Model A with the early Caddy engine...
    DSCN7476.JPG

And as long as I'm posting Chevys, the chopped hardtop shown below belongs to Cliff Addenbrook of Lakewood, ColoRODo...

So, that's it for this go-round...Long live Kustoms...!!!

Hey Mick, it's been a month since you started this thread, have your "Kustom Blues" been satiated by now...??? I hope so, but just in case, here's a few more from my archives...

My friend, Greg Davis of Hiawatha, Kansas, owns this radical Buick with Cadillac engine...
    DSCN7443.JPG

And a genuine "Barris" kustom now living in ColoRODo Springs...
    DSCN8220.JPG

Definitely a 'kustom,' but of the trailer variety...note the taillights. This man knows what he likes and is not afraid to show it off...!!!

'46 Aerosedan 'sled'...door handles were removed, headlites frenched, rocker trim removed, rear fenders molded to the body but the hood emblem stayed...

    Nice Olds convert...
    DSCN7637.JPG

And last, Greg Pitmans's Chrysler in its "old" paint...!!! The car is now purple but I think it looked a lot better in the color R-E-D...

40StudeDude, is Greg the one who built that awesome Buick?
I saw it at a show in Oklahoma (Monkey Island??) years ago, when it had just appeared in Rod & Custom (I think? Could have been Custom Rodder?)
Amazing work. Probably my all-time favorite "new style" custom. And he didn't yell at me when I leaned close to look at it, which I appreciated.

  17. The Harold Olsen Buick is another one that I have liked since before I could drive. I still have that issue of Classic & Custom somewhere.

I love Pitmans's Chrysler, I didn't know that he changed the color. Any pics of the new purple paint?

IF you are talking about the Copper Colored '49 Fastback in post #148 , then No, it was not Greg Pittman that built it - Jim Smith is the owner builder and the car has been done for several years...I'm just not aware if it appeared in R & C or Custom Rodder altho it's possible...the Buick is gorgeous.

And Mick, I have no current pix of Pittman's Purple Chrysler...
